Vehicle Loan FAQ
A title is a legal document that includes information about a vehicle and the name(s) and address of the purchaser or registered owner(s). The title will also list the legal owner or lienholder of the vehicle.
Vehicle information includes the vehicle identification number(VIN) year, make and model of the vehicle.

Your insurance policy must include the following coverage:
- Comprehensive (fire, theft, vandalism) and Collision
- A deductible not to exceed $1,000
- The policy must contain a loss payable clause endorsement naming Logix Federal Credit Union as lien holder with loss payee address.

Yes, it is always important for Logix to have your current address to ensure you receive all important and updated financial information. Please contact our Member Contact Center to advise them of the change at (800) 328-5328 or internationally (818) 565-2020. You can also update your contact information within Logix Online Banking under Profile.
It is also important to notify your new state DMV or Titling Office of your new address. Visit their website to update your vehicle registration address and follow their directions.
Depending on the state, you will need to provide one or more of the following documents to complete your car registration to the DMV:
- Current registration
- Original title
- Permission to register letter; from lien holder (Logix)
- Front and back copy of title
- Current vehicle proof of insurance coverage
Most states allow temporarily registration with a copy of your current registration. Before contacting Logix, please contact your new state’s titling agency to confirm document(s) needed and follow these steps.

If the original title is needed
- Ask your new state’s titling agency to fax a request for the title to (818) 565-2297.
- Once Logix receives the fax request, we will process the release of your title to the state’s titling agency for processing.
- Note, if your car has an electronic title, it will take longer to process the request by the agency.
- If a copy of the title or a permission letter is needed, contact Logix at (818) 565-2266.
Logix allows vehicle transportation to Mexico and Canada only. U.S. Customs require a letter from the lienholder (Logix) authorizing the transportation for the vehicle. You will need to provide the following documents to complete the out of country request:
- Copy of Insurance (US)
- Copy of Insurance (International Country): Must indicate dates of insurance coverage and Logix as lienholder
- Comprehensive Insurance Coverage
- Copy of Current Registration
Once you are ready to request your letter, complete the Out Of Country Request Form and fax to (818) 565-2297. For additional information, please contact our Consumer Loan Operations department (818) 565-2266.
You can pay off your loan by utilizing one of the following:
- Pay in person: You can pay off your auto loan in person at one of our branches.
- Pay online: If you're an Online Banking customer, you can sign in to make a payment.
- Pay by phone: You can call our Member Contact Center at (800) 328-5328 or Internationally at (818) 565-2020.

Please include your account number to avoid processing delays.
We may send the electronic lien release notification to your state’s titling office as soon as five business days after we post your payoff to your account. Depending on the state your title is held, your title or lien release will be mailed to you typically within 15 business days.
The physical title will be sent by your state’s titling office to the last known address they have on file for you. If you live in Florida, you are required to visit a local field office to obtain your vehicle title.
If title has been lost, you may be eligible to receive a lien release for your vehicle. For additional information, please contact the Consumer Loan Operations department (818) 565-2266.
